At Anfra-Aido, material choices are based on practical needs and verifiable data. At the doors, gates and their fasteners, Purso Greenline aluminum profiles are used, and an independent EPD environmental statement is available regarding the raw material’s environmental impact.
Material selection with documentation available
When Anfra-Aito was started, the goal was to build a functional product range that comprehensively meets customers’ needs, including materials. The collaboration with the domestic manufacturer of aluminum profiles, Purso, began with the design of the fence posts. Since then, the collaboration has expanded to gates, fasteners, and ongoing product development.
From the very beginning, the choice of materials was also important in terms of utilizing recycled aluminum.
”We didn’t want to talk about recycled aluminum only at a general level; we wanted concrete information and figures about the material. From the quarry, we received documentation that allows us to assess the material’s environmental impact and demonstrate it to our customers as well”," says Sarita Karjalainen, Anfra-Aitojen Project Sales Manager.
Anfra-Aidat uses Purson Greenline aluminum profiles in its scaffolding structures and gates. The Greenline profiles are made from recycled aluminum raw material. Concrete examples of waste types include window frames and aluminum doors from demolished buildings, as well as aluminum cables from demolished power lines.
The EPD environmental statement describing the material’s environmental impact has been published in the International EPD System database. The EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a standardized environmental statement that provides information about the environmental impacts of the product throughout its life cycle in accordance with defined calculation and reporting principles.

The properties of aluminum support functional fencing solutions

Product development from design to finished product
The collaboration between Anfra-Aito and Purso is not limited to ordering ready-made profiles. The products have been developed together from the very beginning, and several custom aluminum profiles have been designed for the needs of Anfra-Aito.
First, the design of the gate panels was planned, followed by development work on the gate profiles and fasteners. Even small details require precise planning: for example, the dimensions and clearances in the sliding gate profiles must be correct to ensure smooth movement of the gate.
Purso manufactures the profiles and delivers them to Anfra-Aido either as finished products or for further processing. Anfra-Aido manufactures, among other things, gate structures from the profiles, which are welded in Kempele and finished before delivery to the construction site.
Domestic collaboration enables the development of materials and products together. At the same time, Anfra-Aidat is able to manage its production and meet the unique needs of its customers.
Verifiable information also for customers' projects
At Anfra-Aido, the starting point for product development is to combine functional structures, appropriate materials, and solutions tailored to customer needs.
In construction and infrastructure projects, documentation of the environmental impacts of materials can be an important part of assessing the project’s environmental objectives. Therefore, credible documentation available on the material is also useful for Anfra-Aito customers. If necessary, the environmental impacts of the material and products can be examined using the EPD environmental statement and project-specific calculations. This way, the assessment of material selection can be based on documented information rather than general environmental permit requirements.
